Obesity is the main cause of various diseases like high blood pressure, arthritis, diabetes, and asthma. Obese people not only lose self-confidence but also face various physical problems, mental conflict and also lose their self-esteem. Obesity is becoming one of the greatest health threats to the modern world. Changing our eating habits to be on a diet is a hard work by itself and healthy weight maintenance is the struggle most people can never seem to overcome. Living a healthy lifestyle is necessary for healthy weight maintenance and losing those unwanted kilograms and inches. And it doesn’t come easy unless you develop enthusiasm for remaining at your ideal weight.

Healthy Weight Maintenance Tips:

Exercise – It is extremely important to participate in some sort of exercise for least 30 minutes each day. You can make it fun by going with a friend or listening to your favorite music. Don’t just do it for one day and then give up, the more you get out there and do it, the more you will enjoy it.

Meal Replacement – Everyone who tries to maintain weight follows a similar routine. This allows us to get all the nutrition we need on a daily basis without eating as many calories as we did when we were overweight. Breakfast, the first meal of the day is the most important meal.

Keep A Food Diary – When we write down everything that passes our lips, you can be honest about our weight. When we look our list and see too many junk foods, we know what we have to do to make that list shorter the next day so we can get back on track. This is extremely helpful at night when we feel the urge to snack while watching tv or a movie. This is the worst time when we eat junk and unhealthy food, so we have to try to avoid it and opt for healthy snacks instead.

Drink Lots Of Water – This is extremely important because body cannot function properly when it is dehydrated. Many times people think they are starving when all they really need is a nice cool glass of water. Keep a bottle full of cold water with you at all times. Who cares if it takes you a little extra time to keep it filled. It’s better than spending time on eating junk food that we really don’t need and that will sabotage all of our hard work and efforts.

Drink Green Tea – Not only is this a super-healthy drink that provides all kinds of vitamins and minerals, but it actually suppresses appetite while speeding up the metabolism process. It also gives a lot of energy to the body.

Eat 6 times a day – Start with the breakfast then have a mini meal between breakfast and lunch. Then have lunch followed by another mini meal between lunch and dinner and lastly have your dinner. But do make sure to consume right amount of calories required including all the nutrients from different food group.

Include fiber – Include lots of fiber in diet in the form of raw salads, fruits and vegetables along with their peels. Sprouts should be added. Use whole wheat, bran, oats instead of maida, suji. Make simple modifications in diet.

Make Healthier Food Choices – This doesn’t mean that we have to give up on all the foods that we love. It just means that if they are high-calorie/salt/fat foods like pizza, we must limit the intake of these foods and opt of healthier snacks. Choose lean proteins or high fiber low calorie foods instead of rotating between things that are crispy, fried or smothered with high calorie toppings. Fish and chicken are healthy alternatives.

Do not deviate from your diet. The secret is to fill your refrigerator with low fat foods. Want something crunchy? Eat a carrot or a radish. Want something creamy? Eat a low fat yogurt. Drink water frequently. If u always liked to pick on the couch watching TV, you can do it now as long as you eat raw or steamed vegetables or fresh fruit. Skipping meals won’t burn fat. Eat small meals at frequent intervals to boost up the metabolism. To be an efficient fat-burning machine, body requires at least eight hours of sleep a night. I Give body proper time to rest, both mentally and physically. Sleep is very, very important.
