Liquid Diet limits the intake of calories by controlling on what to eat and avoid solid foods. 1. Low Blood Sugar
The body is not able to produce enough energy without glucose, which can cause low blood sugar levels. High intensity of exercise or not consuming enough amounts of carbohydrates may drop the blood sugar levels. It is difficult to gain all the nutrients from liquid diet.
2. Hormonal Imbalance

3. Gastrointestinal Problems
Mostly people follows liquid diet for weight loss, constipation is the common side effect of this diet. Once body gets used to liquids, it may cause various problems in getting back to the normal schedule of solids. It is important that the body will not be able to make space for very heavy foods instantly.
Stress is also side effect of liquid diet. Not getting comfort food may cause mood swings and deficiencies which lead to headaches, fainting, or seizures in some cases. Juices and broths can minimise the content of fibre and protein intake which are the good source of energy. Essential nutrients which are present in fruits and vegetables cannot be managed if someone is on liquid diet.
