Tips to Prevent Weight Gain During Festive Season

Festive seasons encourage overeating which may leads to weightgain. Festive foods include sugary dense food items like sweets and also deep fried foods which contains lots of calories. During the duration from October to November is packed with wedding seasons and festivals like Diwali and navratri.

Losing weight can be much more difficult and timetaking. Here are some tips that will be prevents from gaining weight.

  1. Drink plenty of water

Keeping yourself hydrated is very important because water helps in cleansing and eliminating waste from the body. Starts a day with two cups of warm water it prevents from indigestion and helps in loosing belly fat.

  1. Portion size

Portion size is very crucial part of diet. If someone is overweight or obese then it is important that food should be consumed in adequate amount or smaller portion. It becomes difficult to control overselves when all the favorite food is right in front of us.

  1. Include Probiotics

Probiotics are good for gut health they can treat upset stomach for probiotics you can include refreshing drinks like chaach, lassi, cranberry juice, coconut water and herbal tea also. During festive season everyone being so busy to balance work or in the preparation due to which mostly peoples compromise with hunger. Include snacks these days like nuts, seeds, fruits to satisfy our hunger. Longer meal breaks usually trigger cravings, junk food contains high amount of salt, sugar and fats.

It is a very critical element when it comes to controlling the calories count these drinks contains high amount of calories so replace these drinks to healthy drinks like lemon water or any fruit juice.

Peoples are more stressed and sleep deprived during these festivals, so it is important to don’t include unhealthy snacks in late night party, sleep deprivation triggers cortisol levels in our brain which triggers hunger and cravings for junk food and disturb the metabolism of the body.

Maintain physical activities during festive season can be challenge. Mostly peoples are busy in household works, everyone should invest atleast 20-30 minutes daily, you can do exercise with your family member also can add on dance form which may fulfill the requirement of workout.

Indian sweets can be very hard to resist. Festivals revolve a lot around food and sweets so we can choose alternatives for these sweets like sandesh, rasgulla as they are not deep fried and contain limited amount of sugar instead of sugar use jaggery for the sweet preparation.
